CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--Reactions of the body after vaccination are treatable and several doctors are on-site to check and provide medicines, says Dr. Ma. Milagros Andutan, allergologist and consultant of Maria Reyna Hospital, during the Talakayan sa PIA, June 25.
The Department of Health (DOH) recently rolled out vaccination to fight the spread and protect the people against coronavirus disease.
Andutan said there are two kinds of reactions a body may have after vaccination.
“First is the Reactogenic Reactions. This involves having fever, headache, body malaise and other related effects,” she said. The other one is allergic reactions which are sensitivities that may not be common but are treatable as the same.
Moreover, she addressed the common issues and concerns about side effects of the vaccine and said that reactions are proof that the vaccine is working for one’s body; it is developing antibodies. The doctor also said that there is a complete set of medication in vaccination sites and ten to 20 doctors are on-site, in case there are situations that need to be addressed.
Further, she encouraged residents in Northern Mindanao that they should not be afraid of being vaccinated, and even campaigns to get the vaccine. (Irene Joy B. Dayo/PIA-10)
