VIRAC (PIA) -- Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes is conducting the Step 2 Registration of the Philippine Identification System (PHILSYS) Act or Republic Act No. 11055 in selected barangays in all municipalities of the province.
According to Ms. Anavi F. Camacho, Provincial Statistics Officer, the PhilSys Step 2 Registration officially started last 7 June 2021 at the province of Catanduanes. As of 21 June 2021, PSA Catanduanes already registered 9, 127 registrants for Step 2 or 13.21% of the official target.
She disclosed that to date, there are 4 registration kits operating in Virac, 3 in Bato and 3 in San Andres with PhilSys staff working Mondays to Sundays to accommodate registrants.
On the other hand, Camacho reminded the public that processing of Philsys is free and Philippine Postal Corporation who serves as the official courier of the PhilID is not collecting delivery fee. Scammers and fixers may be reported through email at info@philsys.gov.ph or through PSA official Facebook page m.me/PSAPhilSysOfficial.
Unauthorized issuance and usage of PhilID may lead to 3 to 6 years imprisonment and penalty of 1,000,000 to P3,000,000 pursuant to Implementing Rules and Regulation (IRR) of R.A. No. 11055, or Philippine Identification System Act. (EAB/PIA Bicol)
