Opolanons satisfied with Sinovac—LCE

OPOL, Misamis Oriental (PIA)—“I have neither seen nor heard anyone express dissatisfaction with the Sinovac vaccines.”

This was the statement of Opol town Mayor Maximino Seno during the Network Briefing News interview with Secretary Martin Andanar.

As the vaccination rollout continues in the municipality, Seno said that Opolanons are already queuing up at vaccination centers to get their COVID-19 shots, despite the fact that the only vaccine available is Sinovac. He said the people’s willingness shows that they support the government’s efforts to defeat the virus that threatens the area and the country.

“Ninety-nine percent of Opolanons shared their enthusiasm to be vaccinated because this could really help in protecting them from being infected against COVID-19,” he said.

Seno said the local government unit (LGU) receives 500 doses per week which will last for two days. He disclosed that many of his people have already called his office to get the vaccination schedule. Accordingly, the LGU cannot accommodate everyone due to lack of vaccines.

To cope with the vaccines’ shortage, the municipality devised a schedule in which Monday through Wednesday is reserved for those who will get the second dose, while Thursday and Friday are for the first dose.

With the Opolanons’ show of support, Seno thanked the DOH for the help as he hopes for additional allocation of vaccines in the coming days to fast track their vaccination rollout. (Jan Albert Araña/PIA10)
