Del Rosario refutes corruption allegations on Marawi rehab

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Housing czar Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario decried allegations of corruption against the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development  and Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) on the ongoing Marawi rehabilitation program

"Definitely walang corruption na nangyayari dahil very transparent ang implementation ng ating mga projects," he said in a virtual press conference, July 8.

The TFBM chief said they tapped civil society organizations to closely monitor the massive reconstruction efforts and so far they have been appreciative of TFBM’s transparency and have expressed satisfaction over the progress of the rehabilitation.

Del Rosario also slammed critics who claim that nothing has been accomplished after four years citing it as an insult to the Marawi City government and residents supporting the rehabilitation.

"To say that nothing has been accomplished after four years of hard work is not only an outrageous lie but an outright insult to our Maranao brothers and sisters who have always been exerting full support to the city's rehabilitation," he added.

He further told critics to spare supportive individuals and the city as a whole from their vested interests.

"If you mean well as alleged Maranao leader, be part of the solution and not be part of the problem by spreading unfounded and deceitful public statement. Instead, let us unite for Marawi to rise as a prosperous and peaceful city again," Del Rosario said. (APB/PIA-ICIC)
