DTI turns over 136 Negosyo kits to Siquijor entreps

SIQUIJOR, June 28 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Siquijor Provincial Office turned over 136 Negosyo Livelihood Kits under the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay-Livelihood Seeding Program (NSB-LSP) to the micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) provincewide, according to the report from the DTI here.

Larena municipality has 24 beneficiaries; Enrique Villanueva, 15; Lazi, 36; Maria, 26; and Siquijor 35.

The beneficiaries were selected from the identified barangays in the province based on the guidelines and criteria, said DTI Provincial Director Angeline Pauline Gonzalez.

She said the activity was initiated to help, support, and develop existing businesses to restart their economic and livelihood activity.

Each beneficiary received P8,000 worth of vouchers (non-cash) to be used in their chosen line of business.

Siquijor Cong. Jake Vincent Villa and Gov. Zaldy Villa both assured Siquijodnon entrepreneurs of their full support as they encouraged them to also work harder.

"Makasalig kamo nga kami nagpabilin nga naningkamot sa among misyon sa pagsuporta sa atong mga negosyante, bisan unsa pa kagamay niini, ug padayun manghatag sa halapad nga tabang sa pagpauswag sa mga negosyo pinaagi sa pagdala sa mga serbisyo sa gobyerno sa mga tawo (We assure you that we strive to do our mission of supporting our entrepreneurs, no matter how small, and we continue to expand our support to boost businesses in the province by effectively bringing the services of the government to the people)," Villa said during the turnover ceremony.

As of 2021, DTI Siquijor already catered to 100 out of the 134 barangays in the province with 336 MSMEs that benefited.

The remaining 34 barangays will be covered in 2022. 

The turnover of livelihood kits was led by Gonzalez together with the congressman and governor, Siquijor Mayor Richard Quezon, Sangguniang Kabataan President Bryll Deeiah Tumarong, Larena Vice Mayor Cyrus Vincent Calibo, Lazi Vice Mayor Earl Aljas, barangay captains, among others.
