CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) --The Department of Agriculture (DA) IV-CALABARZON inaugurated two new facilities worth more than P12M July 8.

DA-4A Regional Executive Director Vilma M. Dimaculangan led the inauguration of the the multi-purpose Research and Development (R&D) building and the Corn Program warehouse constructed within the compound of its regional office in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.

Established through an Institutional Grant worth P8 million, the building, according to DA-4A will serve as venue for various R & D activities that include research data banking, knowledge management, and meetings of research institutions, local government units, and other partner agencies.

On the other hand, the Corn Program warehouse was constructed with a total funding of P4,229,750.98 from the regular program of DA-4A Corn Program.

The warehouse will function as storage of interventions such as fertilizers, corn seeds, and farm machinery to preserve the high-quality condition of these interventions before distribution to farmers-recipients. (DA-RFO IVA, RAFIS/CPG, PIA-4A)
