CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - Soldiers from the 95th Infantry Battalion (95IB) and Philippine Air Force - Tactical Operations Group (PAF-TOG2) conducted a leaflets dropping containing the many benefits Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members may avail should they decide to surrender to the government.
The aerial leaflets dropping in areas identified as insurgency-inflicted is one of the strategies of the 5th Infantry Division in partnership with the PAF to encourage rebels to surrender in support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 which institutionalizes whole-of-nation approach to end local communist armed conflict.
Army Captain Joter Lobo II, 502nd Infantry Brigade Civil Military Operations officer, said the leaflets dropped in the far-flung barangays in the City of Ilagan and in the towns of Tumauini and Divilacan contain details of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and testimonies of former rebels.
The team also dropped leaflets containing safety precautions on COVID-19.
"The government is sincere in its drive to end the local communist armed conflict and many government agencies are pouring some of their resources to help the former rebels live a normal life and give them the intended benefits," Lobo said.
The 502nd CMO commander said that the former rebels who have decided to surrender are now enjoying the benefits accorded to them under the E-CLIP and under E.O 70.
