Isabela welcomes 3 Balik Probinsiya family-beneficiaries

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Provincial Government of Isabela immediately handed over financial assistance and food items to the three family-beneficiaries of 'Balik Probinsiya, Bagong Pag-asa' program after welcoming them at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office located in this capital city on July 9.

The 'Balik Probinsiya, Bagong Pag-asa' program is geared towards addressing Metro Manila’s congested urban areas by encouraging people, especially informal settlers to return to their home provinces and assist them in this transition with support and incentives on transportation, family, livelihood, housing, subsistence and education, among others.

The beneficiaries were welcomed by a team from the provincial government headed by Atty. Eduardo Cabantac, Provincial Planning and Development coordinator and Balik Probinsiya focal person, DILG Isabela head Engr. Corazon Toribio, Schools Division Superintendent of Isabela Dr. Madelyn Macalling and some regional line personnel.

A financial aid amounting to P5,000 each was given to the principal beneficiaries and P1,000.00 each for family members. An additional sack of rice, grocery and health packs were also received by the beneficiaries.

They also received vegetable seeds and seedlings from Department of Agriculture (DA-Region 2), food packs and hygiene kits from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-2), health supplements from Department of Health (DOH-Region 2) and school bags for children from DepEd-Isabela.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board ( LTFRB), on the other hand, took charge of their transportation going to Isabela.

Cabantac said that the provincial government has been very supoportive to this program of the national government and is always ready to welcome Isabeleño families living in Metro Manila that are severely affected by pandemic, displaced from their work, and those living in dangerous and slum areas.

After welcoming them at the PSWDO, the families were fetched by their respective Local Government Units (LGUs) - San Mariano, Tumauini and City of Ilagan.

This is the second batch of the BP2 program beneficiaries for the Province of Isabela according to Cabantac. (MDCT/MGE/PIA Isabela)
