CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)—Since Cagayan de Oro City has been identified as one of the closely monitored areas in the country as part of the NCR plus 8 plus 10 categories, the city government will start its vaccine rollout for the A4 category gradually.
Dr. William Bernardo, Cagayan de Oro City health officer, said they are now filtering data from pre-registration, the reason why they encourage everyone to pre-register—especially those 18 and above.
“We are now filtering data from pre-registration, that is why we encourage those 18 and above to pre-register; since we are now starting the A4 and A1.1 or the immediate family of our healthcare workers. We will determine who amongst the A4 and A1.1 categories are at high risk so we could prioritize accordingly. Those aged 50 and above for the A4 type will be on top of the list because they are nearing the senior citizen age and their risk factor is higher; that is where we will start,” Bernardo said.
He emphasized that they could not simultaneously conduct a mass vaccination due to inadequate supply of vaccines.
Dr. Bernardo, however, assured the public that doses of vaccines keep coming in anytime.
“I assure the public, especially our senior citizens, that we are doing our best to be on track by following the priority groups set by the government so that we could hit our ‘herd immunity’ target,” he said. (JAKA/RLRB/PIA-10)
