Stay Safe app to aid contact tracing in Zambo City

ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 13 (PIA) – 712 establishments in Zamboanga City have applied for Safety Seal certification based from City Administrator’s record utilizing the Stay Safe mobile app.

The city continues to implement the use of the app to aid contact tracing efforts. The application is part of the city’s mandate to all establishments and residents to register to the contact tracing digital platform to help track possible exposures within the city.

Department of Health (DOH)-9 supports the usage of the new application. “We welcome this new technology to enhance our contact tracing especially for the LGUs who need additional personnel,” said Dr. Aaron Jess Khalil Curay, medical officer of DOH-9.

The Safety Seal certification is granted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and LGUs to buildings and establishments that are compliant with the minimum public health standards and use of accredited contact tracing app such as Stay Safe.

One of the establishments granted with the certification is SM City Mindpro, the first SM shopping center in Zamboanga and the first SM Supermalls in Mindanao. SM received the Safety Seal Certification issued by the LGU for compliance on safety and health protocols against COVID-19 last June 22, 2021. (EDT/MLE/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
