BANGUED, Abra (PIA) - - Government interventions are now pouring in t in a barangay in the town of Tubo which is headed towards a conflict-cleared community.
Agencies converged recently at Barangay Kili, Tubo ro carry out for a convergence and orientation on the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) on July 13.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Millicent Carino gave a brief introduction on the concept of the whole of nation approach Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict under Executive Order 70 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte, which incorporates the RCSP.
Kristoffer Alvarez, DILG Provincial Program Head, explained that the RCSP is a convergence tool for barangay local governments in identifying issues and concerns for government intervention. It is an inclusive program such that all of the members of the community regardless of status in life who compose the RCSP team have roles to play.
As the program adapts a convergence mechanism, all actions in the barangay, municipal and provincial local government with the national government need to work as one, added Alvarez.
Through the Community Support Program (CSP) of the 71st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army headed by Commanding Officer LT Col Sonny E. Gonzales in partnership with the local Philippine National Police, among issues and concerns raised among members of the community include replacement of hydropower posts, construction and renovation of school building , additional teachers, limited medical services and supply of medicines, farm-to-market road (FMR) from Batayan to Lamasatan and construction of two kilometer Ap-apok Tumbeb to Ataki FMR, installation of cellular internet tower and repair of day care center, among others.
Other agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry, Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, Dept. of Public Works and Highways, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Dept. of Education, Dept. of Social Welfare and Development, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Information Agency also presented their services during the convergence activity.
DepEd Senior Development Specialist Jan Nowel Pena and TESDA Provincial Director Braulio de la Pena also turned over generator and portable radios to two school recipients of School Electrification Project, and baking tool kits for beneficiaries, respectively.
Kili barangay captain Ruben Macario Sabino expressed hope that the community will continue to receive government interventions for its development. (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Abra)
