Antique Inspection Team prepares for Safety Seal issuance

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - - The members of the Antique Provincial Inspection Team for the Safety Seal Certification Program are preparing for the issuance of Safety Seal pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-053 which provides for the implementing guidelines of the Safety Seal Certification Program for DILG and the Local Government Units.

Information Officer Judy Mae M. Sajo of the Department of the Interior and Local Government here, in a press release, said that a coordination meeting was held recently at the DILG Antique Provincial Office to discuss the steps for the successful implementation of the program.

The team is composed of the provincial heads of DILG Antique, Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection.

The program is provided in Inter-Agency Task Force Resolution No. 87 which hopes to increase compliance of private and public health entities to the minimum public health standards set by the government.

Likewise, the program encourages the adoption and use of the Safety.ph digital contact tracing application, as well as increase consumer confidence as the country re-opens the economy.

DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-053 provides for the implementing guidelines pf the Safety Seal Certification Program for DILG and the Local Government Units as issuing authorities.

The same composition for Municipal Inspection Teams was already organized in the municipalities of Antique.

The Provincial and Municipal Safety Seal Inspection teams will soon start inspecting government buildings, police camps, and stations, BFP offices and stations, provincial jails, barangay halls other barangay facilities, and all other public establishments not covered by the other issuing agencies for the issuance of the safety seal certification.

This is to ensure that agencies and private establishments comply with the Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS) mandated by the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (AITF), Sajo said.

As an initiative, DILG agencies in the province will conduct self-assessment of their respective offices based on the checklist provided in the guidelines. (JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique/DILG)
