BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently gave starter kits and jobs for the poor villagers in two towns of the province.
Gerardo Nicolas, DOLE NUeva Vzicaya chief said 30 villagers from Aritao town recently received starter kits through their Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP).
He said the starter kits worth P899,880.00 was a result of the earlier commitment of Secretary Silvestre Bello III during his visit to the province in January this year.
The awarding of the starter kits was made with the presence of local government unit officials of Aritao town headed by Mayor Remelina Peros-Galam.
In Bambang town, DOLE officials also conducted a recent payout to 150 recipients of their Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
Nicolas said the beneficiaries did community work for 15 days and were given assistance amounting to P370 per day.
He said a total amount of P832,500.00 was released during the payout adn witnessed by LGU officials of Bambang headed by Mayor Pepito Balgos. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
