CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - As transactions in offices becomes digital due to the effect COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Isabela is pushing for the implementation of digitalization and security of electronic transactions.
Through the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNKI) training being conducted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to DTI Isabela staff, the digitalization and strengthened security of electronic signatures is assured.
Winston Singun, DTI Isabela head, said that they are in the process of forging a partnership with DICT isabela in the conduct of PNPKI training of their employees to implement the digital processing and secured transactions.
“Now that we are in the era of new normal due to COVID-19, there will be instances that we cannot report physically to the office but through this PNPKI, a secured and fast-tracked signing of our documents can be done instantly." Singun said.
Singun said all provincial offices of DTI in Region 2 will be using PNKI soon once the necessary training is conducted.
DICT facilitator Kristian E. Saccuan said the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) allows users of public networks like the internet to exchange private data securely.
“PNKI is essentially a set of hardware, software, policies, personnel, and procedures needed to create, manage, distribute, use, store and revoke digital certificates,” Saccuan said.
The PKI is one of the core services being offered by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) that will foster trust in the government by ensuring secure and reliable online transactions. (BME/MGE/PIA Isabela)
