BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya,(PIA) - - A P20 million dormitory for Indigenous People (IP) will be built at the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) branch campus in this town.
NVSU Officer-in-Charge, Regent Ruth Padilla said they have just conducted the groundbreaking for the construction of the two-storey dormitory which will cater to IP students.
“This is another project that will benefit our students who belong to various tribes in our province. With this, they can save much from their expenses while studying at the university when the COVID-19 pandemic will soon cease to affect us,” she said.
The IP dormitory, funded by the National Housing Authority (NHA), is part of the 21 projects to be built in the country can accomodate more than 400 students.
Padilla said having the IP dormitory in the university will provide comfort and ease among IP students especially those living in the remote and upland barangays not only in the province but other provinces as well.
Padilla said another IP dormitory project will also be constructed at the NVSU Bayombong main campus which will commence next month. (MDCT/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
