Better tourism in Sibugay soon

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, July 19 (PIA) – The province will have its very own Zamboanga Sibugay Tourism Development Framework Plan (ZSTDFP) before the year ends, assured the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator- Engineer Venencio Ferrer III.

“The framework plan will serve as guide in terms of tourism development, of where and how the province will be, 5 or 10 years from now,” Ferrer said.

The crafting of the ZSTDFP is an offshoot of the pre-planning of Sibugay Tourism Circuit Development held recently by the Department of Tourism (DOT)-9.

During the two-day workshop of the pre-planning of tourism circuit development, all the 16 municipalities of the Province presented their identified existing potential tourists spots for assessment and validation to include: Tubod Floating Cottages and the Tubu-Tubu Beach of Tungawan town; StoneHill Peak Campsite and Agri Park; Buluan Board Walk; Lulinghayaw Nature Park; Kaparan Chapel by the Mangrooves of Ipil town. Gakbusan Falls of Kabasalaan town; 21 Farm in Imelda town; Diplahan town’s Diplahan Tropical Resort; and its untapped, unexplored cave that boasts of its undisturbed formation of stalagmites, stalactites and even formation of helictites (abstract formation) with undiscovered species in the cave.

The San Jose Water Falls; Bauyan Hilltop View and Trekking experience; Mt. Zechariah Sea of Clouds experience, all in Buug town. Also included in the list for DOT’s validation is Malangas town’s Kigay Sand Bar and Dansulaw Marine Eco Park. RTLim’s Labuyo Beach; Dyosan Mangrove and Protected Area and there are a lot more tourist potential areas included in the list for validation.

Meanwhile, Engr. Ferrer said tourism activities in the province will be allowed after July 15.

“Ga hinay-hinay ug luag ang atong kalihukan sa turismo, allowing 50% capacity sa usa ka tourist site and destination.” He said it is important to resume tourism activities to help spur Sibugay economy.

“Any question or suggestion for the development of Zamboanga Sibugay, ang Provincial Planning and Development Office, andam mi mutubag, mudawat suggestions. I-pool nato tanan mga ideas in order for us to improve. Let’s help each other,” Ferrer said. (EDT/JPA/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
