BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - -The Department of Agriculture (DA) has started its distribution of Indemnification Assistance to hog growers who were affected by the African Swine Fever (ASF).

The DA yesterday has initially distributed the assistance worth P6.7 million to 250 hog growers in Quezon town through its Quick Response Fund (QRF).

Mayor Dolores Binwag said the assistance was a big help to their villagers who were adversely affected by the ASF disease in the past months.

"We are grateful for this assistance because our villagers were waiting for this especially those who are planning to get back on their toes despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic," she said.

DA officials said more than P10 million worth of assistance will be distributed to the ASF-affected hog raisers in Nueva Vizcaya.

They said these will be given in the towns of Diadi, Bagabag, Solano, Villaverde, Bayombong, Kayapa, Ambaguio, Kasibu, Dupax del Norte, Aritao and Sta. Fe. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
