The PDRRMO, along with its component units in all the municipalities and city across the province, activated their Emergency Operation Centers.
According to PDRRM Officer Alvin Cruz, their workforce was already deployed for operations on on-ground survey, monitoring and assessment, and are now in close coordination with the local government units (LGUs).
They are roving around landslide and flood prone areas and water level of rivers are being closely monitored.
As of 11am of Sunday, there are minor landslides reported in some areas of Bacnotan, Santol, Burgos, and Bagulin but affected areas were already cleared.
While flooding in some portions of Aringay, Bacnotan, and Luna had already subsided.
No casualty is recorded.
However, as of this report, there are 840 families affected in the municipality of Luna; 131 families in Bauang; 16 families in Bacnotan; two families in Balaoan; and one each for the towns of Naguilian and Burgos.
With the threats of COVID-19 pandemic, Cruz said that, “evacuation of affected residents to their relatives in unaffected barangays is recommended.”
Meanwhile, LGU Naguilian provided relief packs to evacuees of Barangay Daramuangan while LGU Luna has an on-going relief distribution in Magsiping village, one of its 14 flood-affected barangay.
The provincial government also prepared some 500 relief packs, as requested by the LGU Luna, in augmentation to the assistance that would be given to its residents. (JCR/AMB/CGC, PIA La Union)
