BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - At least 150 poor villagers in the towns of Bagabag and Quezon recently received their one month pay from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

Gerry Nicolas, DOLE Nueva Vizcaya acting head said the recipients received P11,100.00 each as monthly salary under the TUPAD program.

He said the workers rendered various services under the supervision of their respective local government units for the whole month of June 2021 with P370.00 as minimum daily wage.

Nicolas said DOLE Regional Director Joel Gonzales was grateful for the beneficiaries for letting their agency do its mandate to provide services and programs for the poor especially this time of COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are also grateful for the support of our local government units, particularly Mayors Johnny Sevillena and Dolores Binwag who expressed their full support as partners of DOLE," he said.

He said Gonzales also expressed the possible provision of starter kits under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) for beneficiaries in the two municipalities to help poor villagers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
