CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) - - Three expansion barangays of the Department of Agriculture’s Special Areas for Agriculture Development (SAAD) in this province received interventions worth P2,065,200.00 as startup for their free-range chicken and vegetable production livelihood projects.
The Department of Agriculture Cordillera Regional Field Office (DACARFO) distributed in Lay-asan, Tanudan, 668 pullets and 242 bags layer feeds to 121 beneficiaries. Each recipient received at least five pullets with two bags of feeds.
In San Quintin in Rizal municipality, 70 beneficiaries received 13 pullets each or a total of 910 pullets. Provision of food for their stocks is the counterpart of the beneficiaries.
In Mabaca, Balbalan, distributed to 105 beneficiaries were 1,040 pullets, 160 bags grower feeds, and 80 sachets of pechay seeds.
As part of the development package, DACARFO also provided technical assistance through a Farmers’ Coaching demo to integrate Mabaca residents on Biosecurity for Swine Production. Mabaca is one of the conflict-affected areas in the province also assisted under whole of nation approach in ending local armed conflicts program.
