NOLCOM, DSWD to set up satellite storage in Camp Aquino

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Armed Forces of the Philippines Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) agreed to establish a satellite storage for relief goods inside Camp Servillano Aquino, Tarlac City. 
 
This initiative aims to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of relief goods to families in Central Luzon especially during disasters.   
 
NOLCOM Commander Lieutenant General Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr. stressed the strategic partnership with DSWD will be beneficial to the people of the region.
 
“The strategic location of Camp Aquino in Central Luzon is essential for the delivery of relief goods to be more responsive. Hence, the convergence of efforts between our organizations is a must in order for us to achieve our common goal of alleviating our people in times of calamities and disasters,” he said. 
 
Burgos furthered the partnership will bring government services closer to the people. 
 
For her part, DSWD Regional Director Marites Maristela commended the immediate response of NOLCOM in putting up a facility for the prepositioning of relief goods. 
 
“The undertaking is timely considering that the month of July is observed as the National Disaster Resilience Month, and efficient delivery of relief goods is essential for the establishment of disaster-resilient communities,” Maristela said. 
 
The satellite storage in Camp Aquino will serve as an additional storage area of relief goods and other stockpiles of DSWD. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
