BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- Two universities here in this mountain resort are among the top performing schools nationwide in the recently released results of the nurse board exams.
Saint Louis University (SLU) is the top performing school nationwide with a 100 percentage passing rate while the University of the Cordilleras (UC) is Top 5 with 88.24 passing rate (45 out of 51 examinees).
SLU’s 75 examinees all passed the board exam with two among the topnotchers. Athena Ainu Macli-ing and Kristenne Joy Arcangel Turqueza both landed in the Top 10 spot with a rating of 87.20.
Other schools in the Cordillera also performed well in the recent nurse board exams as per the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera. Benguet State University in La Trinidad had a 100% passing rate(14 examinees), University of Baguio with 88.89 passing rate(40 out of the 45 examinees); Easter College, 87.50; Baguio Central University , 59.09 passing rate and Divine World College of Bangued in Abra with 62.50 passing rate.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 5,008 out of 7,746 passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this July 2021.
Pursuant to Section 16, of Republic Act No. 9173, “all successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take an oath of professional before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice”.
From August 17 to September 20, 2021, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of documentary stamps and one piece short brown envelope. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
Meanwhile, SLU is among the top performing schools in the June 2021 Pharmacist Licensure Examination.
SLU is in the Top 5 spot with a 92.86 passing rate as the 117 examinees passed the board exams for pharmacists out of the 126 total examinees. Monsour Carlo Hidalgo Salazar placed Top 8 with 91.85 rating. (JDP/RMC- PIA-CAR)
