“Our goal is to equip the barangay health workers and barangay nutrition scholars with basic nutrition education as we strive to lessen the number of undernourished children and improve the health diet of every resident in the community,” Fernandez told Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
She said the lecture was facilitated through online application while the participants gathered at the Brgy. Vacante Covered Court in this town on July 26-28, 2021.
The participants are from Barangays Vacante, Palisoc and Diaz.
Recently, the Local Government Unit of Bautista has signed a memorandum of agreement with DOST Region 1 for the implementation of the CEST Program in the municipality.
CEST program aims to empower the poorest and most depressed communities in the country, through Science and Technology interventions in health and nutrition, water and sanitation, basic education and literacy, livelihood/economic enterprise development, and disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
