KALIBO, Aklan, (PIA) -- Several government offices and commercial establishments in Aklan are now Safety-Seal Certified.

According to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Aklan OIC Provincial Director Ma. Carmen Iturralde, the Safety Seal is a voluntary certification program which provides recognition to business establishments and offices that comply with the minimum health protocols set by the government and integrate StaySafe.ph as a contact tracing tool.

During the recent “DTI Meets The Media” event here organized by DTI-Aklan, she revealed that some business establishments in Aklan had been awarded by the agency with Safety Seal Certifications.

Units (LGUs) for malls, wet markets,and other retail stores, laundry service centers, art galleries, gyms and spas, cinemas, arcades and other private establishments.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), on the other hand, is the issuing authority for the Safety Seals of city halls, municipal halls, provincial capitols, other LGUs facilities and buildings, police camps and stations, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and fire stations, provincial/district/city jails, barangay halls and other facilities and all other public establishments.

The DTI is the issuing authority for the safety seals of groceries, supermarkets, convenience stores, outlets of logistic services providers, barbershops and salons, service and repair shops.

Per latest update from the DILG, its provincial office here, plus the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Aklan Provincial Office are now Safety Seal Certified. (AAL/VGV/PIA6 Aklan)
