PIA, ComNet conduct 3rd online information caravan in Daet

DAET, Camarines Norte (PIA) –- In order to bring information regarding government programs and services to the barangays of Daet,  the Philippine Information Agency together with Camarines Norte Communicators Network (CNCN) conducted an online caravan July 22,Thursday, via Zoom platform.

This was the 8th Information Caravan (3rd online) conducted by  PIA-Camarines Norte with CNCN in this  province in partnership with the local government unit of Daet which served as the host of the activity and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Luzon Cluster 3 for the Zoom platform.

Previously the information caravan was conducted through face-to-face in the towns of Paracale, Vinzons, Mercedes and Capalonga in 2018 and in Basud last 2019.

Due to the pandemic, said stakeholders innovated into a combination of face-to-face  and online engagement.  This approach  started last year in the town of Paracale and Jose Panganiban in May this year.


The 8th Information Caravan (3rd online) conducted by the PIA with CNCN in the province of Camarines Norte in partnership with the LGU-Daet who served as the host of the activity and DICT Luzon Cluster 3 for the Zoom platform.

The 3rd online caravan which was held in Daet used Zoom platform only due to the increasing cases of COVID-19.

This was attended by 23 Punong Barangays (out of 25 barangays) with their Brgy. Councils using the said online platform.

Municipal Administrator Joan Tabernilla de Luna said that reliable information about government programs will be disseminated by the Punong Barangays to their constituents.

She also congratulated the organizers for conducting the activity which also serve as an exposure to Punong Brgys in attending through an online platform.

Daet ABC Pres. Pedro Musa said they were equipped with information that they can disseminate to their constituents.

He also thanked the organizers for holding the activity.

The activity was presided by CNCN President Rommel R. Pajarin, Election Officer/Speaker Bureau Member of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) who also discussed background and purpose of the existence of ComNet.

It was also highlighted with the creation of the Daet Barangay Information Network which was introduced by ComNet Adviser Rosalita Manlangit, Information Center Manager of PIA Camarines Norte.

Stakeholder’s Provincial Chiefs and Public Information Officers (PIOs) discussed their programs and services via Zoom along with the presentation of power point and videos.

The government agencies heads/PIOs who attended the event were from the Commissions on Elections (COMELEC), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Education (DepEd), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Technical Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Philippine Health and Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Department of Agriculture (DA), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)-Naga, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Phil. Red Cross (PRC),

Punong Barangay Eduardo Asiao (1st from right) along with the Brgy. Council of Magang, Daet attended the activity via Zoom. Brgy. Magang is one of the 23 brgys. attended the activity.

Camarines Norte Water District (CNWD)/Primewater, Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) and Philippine Army (PA).
