DOST trains Tadian women's group on  weaving designs

TADIAN, Mountain Province (PIA)--The Department of Science and Technology through its Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) conducted   trainings on weaving design and color management and fashion designing to the   Poblacion Tadian Young Women’s Organization to improve the quality and marketability of their woven products.

The first training entitled Advance Handloom Weaving Design and Color Management held on July 12-14 focused on the artistic side of the participants to able to create designs.  A workshop reinforced their newly acquired knowledge.

The other training, Pattern Making and Fashion Designing, allowed the participants to create their unique patterns/design while incorporating color management.

Mrs. Rose Ann Banglo-Wangdali served as the resource speaker together with her staff, Mr. Delfin Pepe Jr.  They led the participants in a series of lectures and workshops.

The trainings under the Local Grants-In Aide project entitled “Enhancement of the Poblacion Tadian Young Women’s Organization Loom Weaving Center through Science and Technology Interventions,” aims to improve the economic status and living conditions of the members through S&T interventions to improve quality, productivity and marketability of their woven products.

These are part of the Science for the People Caravan the DOST- PSTC is conducting to bring STI closer to the community.

PSTC Head Alfonso K. Berto encouraged the members to use what they learned   and use properly the equipment in order for the project to be successful. He also said continuous monitoring will be done in order to check on the progress of the project and for future references. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR, Mountain Province)
