TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - As the government holds the nationwide celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan in the country, around 26 youth leaders in Amulung town aspire to compete to be included among the Ten Outstanding Youth Leaders (TOYL) in the town.
Inspired by the same award initiated by the SK Federation Chair of Cagayan Kevin Timbas, the search aims to push the young to lead better and do more.
Amulung SK Federation Guillane Mae Pascual said that the award also aims to recognize the significant contributions of the youth in nation-building.
Recently, the candidates were judged based on their documents reflecting their community involvement, leadership opportunities, accomplishments, innovations, academics and extra-curricular achieves, and other indicators.
They will again be subjected to panel interviews to further assess and verify their performances and accomplishments.
Karl Leonvid Gannaba, SK Chair of Dugayug, and one of the recently awarded TOYL of Cagayan, said tjat while most of the contestants are still students, they have exemplified good leadership capabilities and can even put twists and innovations to ordinary programs that is why it is but fitting to recognize their good works.
The winners of the search will be awarded first week of August during the celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan. (JKC/GVB/PIA-Cagayan)
