NHA starts IP dorm in Kayapa

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The National Housing Authority (NHA) has started the construction of another Indigenous People's Dormitory in Kayapa town.

Kayapa Mayor Elizabeth Balasya said the P20 million IP dormitory project will be funded by the NHA in barangay Pingkian.

She said the project will benefit IP students from the remote barangays of the upland municipality.

"This project will enable our students and their families to save and lessen their difficulties in going home from their remote communities. This will also provide them comfort of staying in a dormitory while studying," Balasya said.

She said the groundbreaking program for the dormitory project was recently conducted which commenced the start of the construction of the project.

Balasya acknowledged the officials of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) for recommending the IP dormitory project for funding by the NHA.

The recent groundbreaking program was attended by the LGU and NHA officials. (BME/NVizcaya)
