ISABELA CITY, Basilan, August 09 (PIA) – The local government of Isabela City de Basilan received this morning a housing project from the National Housing Authority with an amount of almost 45 million pesos.
The National Housing Authority represented by Engr. Al-Khwarizmi Indanan, District Manager of District 2 and BARMM turned-over to Mayor Sitti Djalia T. Hataman the three (3) checks with an amount of P14,999,444.18 each and intended for the IP Housing Projects in the three (3) barangays in Isabela City namely Carbon, Diki and Tampalan.
Mayor Hataman is very grateful for the said project as it expected to benefit a total of 300 indigenous people families in the city. She added that this project is also in line with her administration's top-9 priority agenda i which is the Care for the Vulnerable Members of the Society to include the Indigenous People.
The turn-over of checks which was held in Sakayan Hall in Isabela City Hall was also witnessed by City Councilor Ritchie Biel, IP Representative Raja Abdulkuddus Salihin, Mr. Nick Acdalin from the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) in Isabela City and Isabela City Treasurer Ms. Mary Jane Abenojar.
The turn-over of checks was timely conducted as we commemorated today (August 9) the International Day of World's Indigenous Peoples which aim to raise awareness of the needs of indigenous peoples globally. (NBE/NDR/PIA9-Basilan)
