BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - At least 180 villagers in the province yesterday received their salaries under the government’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) program.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Provincial Director Geraldine Labayani said the number represents the first batch of beneficiaries from the province’s three municipalities.
The payout was conducted at the Nueva Vizcaya Convention Center (NVCC) with Governor Carlos Padilla.
The TUPAD beneficiaries who came from the towns of Quezon, Diadi and Dupax del Sur received P5,500.00 after rendering work for 15 days.
Labayani said more Vizcayanos will be benefited with the program which aims to provide jobs to poor villagers especially this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are grateful for the DOLE’s TUPAD program as our villagers especially our poor sectors can have hope during these trying times. We hope that more of our villagers will be benefited with this program,” Padilla said.(MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya
