Isabela honors 2021 outstanding farmers, groups

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Provincial Government  has honored its outstanding farmers in an awarding ceremony held at the capitol amphitheater on August 9.

The awarded farmers  received the award as Gawad Saka 2021 (provincial level) and have shown and exemplified production of agricultural crops are the following: Outstanding Rice Farmer Rudolfo Munoz of Munoz West, Roxas, Outstanding Corn Farmer  Dante Cayapan of. San Antonio, city of Ilagan, Outstanding High Value Crops Edgardo Nicolas of Payak, Jones, Outstanding Small Animal Raiser  Manuel Cabrera of Centro San Antonio, City of Ilagan, Outstanding Large Anial Raiser Arvin Israel Padilla of Sisim Alto, Tumauini, Outstanding Fisherfolk (Fish Culture)  Arnel Santiago of Gaddanan, San Mateo, Outstanding Fisherfolk (Fish Capture)  Julcardo Bangalisan of Culasi, Palanan and Outstanding Agripreneur  Joeven Handig of San Fermin, Cauayan City.

Other awardees were Gildebrando Pascua and Family of Simmimbaan, Roxas as  Outstanding Farm/Family Fisherfolk, Alvin Fernandez of San Francisco, San Guillermo as  Outstanding Young Farmer, Rural Improvement Club of Victory Sur, Santiago City as  Outstanding RIC, Santiago ICCAFC of Santiago City as  Outstanding ICCAFC, Caviteno-Ilocano Agricultural Coop of Magletecia, Echague as Outstanding Small Farmer Organization, Aubrey Joy Balbin of San Fabian, Echague as Outstanding Agricultural Scientist, Roynic Aquino of Bliss Village, City of Ilagan as Outstanding Agricultural Researcher, Claudio Gonzaga of Villa Gonzaga as Outstanding Organic Farmer, Villla Luz BFT of Villa Luz, /benito Soliven as Outstanding Barangay Food Terminal (LGU Operated and NGO operated), and Mercedez Cara of Sta. Cruz, Benito Soliven as Outstanding Rural Women respectively.

Gov. Rodolfo Albano III said the recognition program aims to praise the contribution of the province's  farmers in ensuring sufficient food for all residents of Isabela and even supplying their excess production in the National Capital Region.

“Here in Isabela, we are investing in foods, we are investing food for our people,” Albano said during the awarding ceremony.

Albano vowed to continue supporting the farmers and fisherfolks to alleviate the quality of life of Isabelenos by providing assistance to produce sufficient food for the province. (BME/MGE/PIA Isabela)
