IDPs in Boganga TS thankful for livelihood aid

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Lakeview Transitory Shelter in Barangay Boganga conveyed gratitude for the livelihood grant they received under the Marawi Coronavirus Disease Recovery Project (MCRP).

After receiving a coconut grater from Community and Family Services International, Aisah Abdullah Obinay plans to put up a store in their transitory shelter. She also thanked Australian government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) that funded the project.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa CFSI at sa Australian government dahil nakatulong sila sa buhay namin,"she said.

[I thank CFSI and the Australian government for helping us in our lives.]

Meanwhile, Hasana Pangandaman said that the food vending assistance she received will be an additional source of income as she received a refrigerator and grocery items before through the Marawi Recovery Project.

"Nagpapasalamat kami sa kanila dahil kahit minsan, hindi nila kami kinalimutan," she said.

[We are thankful to them because we were never forgotten.]

On the other hand, Faidarah Ampac is optimistic that the coconut grater from CFSI will help her family. She recounted that the sidecar they received under the MRP has helped her child graduate in Grade 6.

Under the MCRP, CFSI targets to provide livelihood, protection, and psychosocial support to 4,000 households in Marawi City and other six municipalities in Lanao del Sur for them to recover from the early economic and psychosocial impact of the pandemic. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
