MSSD-BARMM distributes P5K cash aid to displaced families

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Ministry of Social Services and Development- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MSSD-BARMM) started the distribution of P5,000 cash aid each to displaced families here.

In partnership with the local government of Marawi, the financial aid is funded through the Bangsamoro Critical Assistance in Response to Emergency Situation (B-CARES) Program of MSSD-BARMM.

Officer-in-Charge City Social Welfare and Development Office Rismirah Adap said a total of 17,938 displaced families from the most affected area profiled through Kathanor (a profiling of internally displaced persons spearheaded by Task Force Bangon Marawi) will receive such assistance.

“Iyong distribution is intended for MAA, iyong mga nakapag biometric sa Kathanor. Iyong system na ginagamit natin is Scope pa rin, iyong ginamit ng DSWD 10 dati,” she said.

[The distribution is intended for MAA, those who have been profiled in Kathanor. The system we use is still Scope, the one used by DSWD 10 before.]



Princess Rahma Macabago, who lives in Area 6 of Sagonsongan Transitory Shelter conveyed thanks for the assistance she received. She said that it will help her family to buy their daily necessities.

“Marawming salamat sa MSSD at sa LGU Marawi dahil itong P5K na natanggap namin ay malaking tulong para sa aming pangangailangan araw-araw,” she said.
