TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- The provincial government of Tarlac urges the public to correctly follow the minimum public health standards to prevent the spread of COVID-19 particularly the variants of concern.
 
These include proper wearing of face mask and face shield, frequent handwashing or sanitizing, physical distancing of at least 1 meter, and ensuring proper ventilation.
 
In a recorded video message, Governor Susan Yap said the province is presently under General Community Quarantine until August 31 to intensify prevention measures as the number of cases increased in the past few days.

"So far, Tarlac Provincial Hospital and the four district hospitals have already prepared their medicines, equipment, and beds for COVID-19 cases," she assured.

Yap also clarified that there is still no recorded case of Delta variant in the province.

"As of now, we still have no case of Delta variant, however, we have already sent more than 400 specimens for genome testing," the official disclosed.

Based on the guidelines issued, province-wide curfew is from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Border checkpoints requires negative RT-PCR result for non-essential travels and non-Authorized Persons Outside of Residence.

For the vaccination status in the province, Yap said Tarlac has administered vaccines to 12 percent of its total population.

"We have vaccinated about 125,000 but we are low in the A2 Category, the senior citizens, where we only have about 30% of them who received the jab," Yap shared.
