BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - At least 316 villagers of Diadi town recently received Livelihood Assistance Grant(LAG) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development(DSWD).
Mayor Sandy Gayaton said the LAG amounting to P2.8 million was given by the DSWD to start -up various livelihood projects of their beneficiaries in the municipality.
“This assistance are welcomed by our villagers who are in dire need of income. These livelihood projects will provide them the needed income as they cope with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in their respective barangays,” he said.
Gayaton said the assistance is also a welcome development for their local government unit considering their ailing budget for livelihood programs and project.
“This will augment our existing resources for our constituents. We hope that more funded projects like this will continue to be given to our constituents so that they can cope up with the pandemic,” he said.
Gayaton also expressed his gratitude to the DSWD for pouring funds for the LAG in their town which considered the biggest fund given by the social welfare and development agency in the province.
The LAG distribution was also coupled with the giving of free seedlings and vitamins from the Department of Agriculture(DA) and Department of Health(DOH). (BME/PIA 2NVizcaya)
