ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda "Angging" Quibranza-Dimaporo called on education stakeholders to be more vigilant amid the rise in cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) across Lanao del Norte.
The governor made the call during the virtual kick-off of the Brigada Eskwela program in the province Monday, August 16, appealing for continuous cooperation and open-mindedness in strictly observing public health protocols to prevent the further transmission of Covid-19.
"Let us not allow the virus to stop the dreams of our children while at the same time ensuring the safety of our families. In today’s world, vigilance is very important. Together, let us help each other and protect our loved ones," she said.
As of August 17, the Provincial Health Office already recorded 422 active COVID-19 cases and 121 COVID-related deaths.
Meanwhile, Dimaporo underscored the crucial role of teachers, parents, and education partners in the development of learners and in pursuing quality education for all.
"I salute parents for meeting the challenges of the new normal. Together with school leaders and teaching personnel, you are important partners in keeping our schools conducive to learning. You also play a significant role in the holistic development of our children," she said.
The governor also expressed appreciation for the dedication and tenacity of teachers as well as the strong support system provided by education stakeholders.
"Our cohesive efforts are much needed in this challenging time, for indeed everyone has an important role to play in preparing our youth for the future," she further said. (APB/PIA-ICIC)
