Metro Lipa Med reaches full capacity

LIPA CITY, Batangas (PIA) --Metro Lipa Medical Center has announced that they will no longer accommodate COVID-19 patients after reaching the full bed capacity in its isolation beds.

In an August 20 press release, Medical Director Dr. Sylvia Ramilo said their hospital can no longer treat additional COVID-19 patients, requesting that suspected, probable and confirmed patients be transferred to other healthcare facilities.

“We could no longer extend beyond our current capacity without compromising the health of our patient and hospital staff,” Ramilo wrote.

Despite their limited services, Ramilo assured the public that their Outpatient and Emergency services will remain open to provide initial care for both COVID and non-COVID patients in need of medical attention.

The facility also opened new positions for a chief pharmacist, staff nurses, biomed technician staff, maintenance staff and MIS staff to accommodate the influx of patients coming to their hospital.

As its chief, Ramilo said they will keep their stakeholders updated once Isolation beds are ready to accommodate more patients. (PB/Metro Lipa Medical Center)
