ILOCOS SUR, Aug. 21 (PIA) – Two large manufacturing companies in the province of Ilocos Sur are now guaranteed to be compliant to health and safety protocols, as they recently garnered the safety seal certification from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office 1.
DOLE in Ilocos Regional Director Atty. Evelyn Ramos led the turnover of the safety seal certification to Marsha’s Delicacies in Bantay, and the Ilocos Feedmill Corporation in Santa on August 18.
Marsha’s Delicacies is known for its delectable rice cakes and other native snacks which have become the staple pasalubong for tourists coming to Ilocos, while the Ilocos Feedmill produces top quality poultry and hog feeds distributed all over the country.
The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme which affirms that an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government and uses or integrates its contact tracing with staysafe.ph.

StaySafe.PH is the country’s official health condition reporting, contact tracing, and social distancing system authorized by the Interagency Task Force on Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and the National Task Force Against COVID-19.
The DOLE issues the safety seal certification for the manufacturing, construction sites, utilities (electric, water, gas, air conditioning supply, sewerage, waste management) information and communication companies (private publication, news, movie production, TV and radio companies), and warehouses.
Other designated issuing authorities are the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Tourism, Department of Interior and Local Governance, Philippine National Police, and the different local government units.
To ensure strict and continual compliance to health protocols, the certification will only be valid for six months from the date of its issuance—except for tourism establishments, which certifications are valid for a year—and has to be renewed a month before expiration.
Establishments who wish to apply for the safety seal certification may visit SAFETY SEAL CERTIFICATION (https://bwc.dole.gov.ph/safetyseal) or inquire via the DOLE Hotline 1349. (JCR/AMB/PIA Ilocos Sur with reports from DOLE)
