PESO opens JobStart program to Tabuk youth

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) -- The City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) has opened registration to the JobStart Philippines Program to applicants 18 to 24 years of age.

Francis Dale Biag of the City PESO said the program is intended for  youth  who are not employed or not enrolled who are interested to train for hiring. 

The program has  three phases. First is   a 10-day online basic skills training where trainees receive daily P300 stipend plus P200 internet allowance.

Second is the three-month technical training where trainees undergo actual exposure at partner establishments and get P300 daily stipend from the program.

The trainees then take  two to three  month work internship at establishments who pay them not lower than 75 percent of the P350/day minimum wage.

After this, trainees are ready to apply for regular employment.     

Biag said their office is now holding orientation with partner establishments here.

Interested applicants may register on http://jobstart.philjobnet.ph/ or visit the City PESO. Requirements include Philippine Statistics Authority-issued  birth certificate or a valid government ID indicating their date of birth,  and diploma or transcript of records.

The program is a tie-up of the Department of Labor Employment , Asian Development Bank , Government of Canada and Tabuk City-Local government unit. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
