BANGUED, Abra(PIA) --Chief of the Philippine National Police PGen Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar was adopted as son of Abra during his recent visit to the province.
Eleazar was given rhe name “Magyukan,” a notable warrior in Tingguian folklore known for his indomitable strength, courage, and astuteness as protector of his people and village.

Governor Joy Bernos, Congressman Joseph Sto Niño Bernos together with Sangguniang Panlalawigan(SP) members handed to Eleazar SP Resolution Number 125 series 2021 declaring the chief PNP as an adopted son of the province.
Board Member Leonard Andanan read the contents of the resolution which states that Eliazar possesses a track record of professionalism, dedication, and integrity and deserves acknowledgment from all Abrenios. With his leadership and inspiring charm, it has gained him popularity and also manifested civilian support to the advocacies and aspirations of the police organization, it further stated.

Given to Eleazar as tokens were rice mosaic portrait crafted by Dolores Municipal employees and a Tingguian vest from Peñarrubia.
A kattukong or tabungaw hat crafted by Abra’s National Living Treasure Teofilo Garcia was earlier handed when he visited the Police Provincial Office.
Meanwhile, in his visit to PPO, Eliazar explained his internal cleansing policy which aims to correct the mistakes which tainted the reputation of the police. (JDP/SCA-PIA-CAR, Abra)
