MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--With the onslaught of the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic, City Mayor Gandamra emphasized that the education sector is not overlooked.
“The continuity of education is also a priority of this administration on top of the health interventions that we have done for the people of the city,” he stated in his State of the City Address (SOCA) Friday, August 27.
Gandamra said the local government has provided aid to the educators through the procurement of various learning materials, including laptops, printers and contextualizers which would all be beneficial in the creation of learning modules.
This as the Department of Education (DepEd) through its Marawi City Schools Division earlier announced that it shall be delivering education to its learners amid this crisis still through the modular or blended learning modalities instead of the face-to-face classes.
The city government stressed that it will maintain its assistance for the residents’ education amid the ongoing global health issue.
“Your local government is in full support of this move which is then manifested through the various interventions and partnership of the LGU to DepEd-Marawi,” said Gandamra. (CRG/PIA Lanao del Sur)
