TESDA honors community partners in NegOr

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Aug. 31 (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Negros Oriental recognized several agencies and individuals who were instrumental in the successful rollout of the agency’s programs and services in the province.

TESDA organized a virtual stakeholder’s appreciation event today to honor its partner government agencies, private Technical-Vocational Education-Training (TVET) institutions, communication agencies, and private individuals who supported the agency and helped in promoting its programs and services to the public.                   

The event also coincided with the celebration of TESDA’s 27th anniversary this year.

TESDA Provincial Director Joel Villagracia said the agency would not be able to achieve its mandate in Negros Oriental without the support of its partners, and the activity is a way to show their gratitude and commendation to them.

Plaques of appreciation and certificates of commendation were given to all the local government units (LGUs) of Valencia, Bacong, Dauin, Zamboanguita, Siaton, Sta. Catalina, Amlan, Pamplona, Mabinay, Tanjay City, Bais City, Ayungon, Jimalalud, Bindoy, Tayasan, Manjuyod, La Libertad, Canlaon City, and Vallehermoso and their respective local chief executives for implementing TESDA scholarship programs for 2020 to 2021.

TESDA also lauded Gov. Roel Degamo and the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental for their continued t support to TESDA’s convergence programs.

Same awards were also given to Guihulngan City LGU and Mayor Carlo Jorge Joan Reyes for their support to TESDA especially with the establishment of Guihulngan Satellite Skills Development Center, Bayawan City LGU and Mayor Pryde Henry Teves for the establishment Bayawan Integrated Training Center, and Dumaguete City LGU and Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other city officials for the Signing of Memorandum of Agreement or Deed of Usufruct for the PTC Dumaguete Building.

TESDA also recognized 1st District Cong. Joselyn Limkaichong, 2nd District Rep. Manuel Sagarbarria, and 3rd District Rep. Arnulfo Teves for supporting them by providing scholarship allocations in their respective congressional districts.

The agency also gave the same citation to the focal persons of their offices in Negros Oriental.  

TESDA also awarded several media organizations including the Philippine Information Agency for their support in promoting TESDA’s programs in traditional and online media platforms.

Other media outlets recognized are DYSR, DYGB, and Fil-Products Cable TV. The media personalities who also received the award are Romulo Amarado and Mary Rose Gonzaga of DYSR, Michael Caluscusin of DYGB, Neil Rio of Fil Products Cable TV Ch. 6, and Florence Baesa of Energy FM Dumaguete.

TESDA also gave recognition to personnel of different government agencies for extending support and assistance to TESDA, especially in its convergence efforts for the implementation of their skills training programs and services.

These agencies are Philippine National Police Negros Oriental Highway Patrol Group, Dumaguete City High School, Department of Education, Philippine Statistics Authority, Government Service Insurance System, Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Cooperative Development Authority, City Disaster Risk Management Office of Guihulngan City, 302nd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, National Commission for Indigenous People, and Department of Agrarian Reform.

Other plaques of appreciation and certificate of commendation were given to various learning institutions for facilitating the conduct of Community Extension Program of TESDA, specifically in priority areas for the government’s End Local Communist Armed Conflict  programs and the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas. 

Recipients of this award are TeamSkills, Silliman University Saite, PCOI, STC, Metro Dumaguete College, Foundation University, AbTech, CAGRI, CCMDO, Rams Art, Afos, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CANO, Global Tech Manpower Inc., and G. Uymatiao Inc.

TESDA also gave awards to several Community Training and Employment Coordinators in different LGUs in the province who facilitated the conduct of the agency’s community-based training program.

Awards were also given to city municipal agriculture officers for their assistance in the issuance of Registry of Service to the Basic Sector in Agriculture Certification to the Rice Extension Service Program Beneficiaries. (RAL/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
