SAN FERNANDO CITY, Oct. 12 (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 is ready to augment the resources of the local government units in the Ilocos for their relief operations among residents affected by severe Tropical Storm Maring.
DSWD Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan said, “DSWD is ready to augment on the relief operations of LGUs if in case they will be requesting for assistance.”
As of Monday, there are a total of 22,897 family food packs available stored at the DSWD warehouse located in Brgy. Biday here which amounts to some P11,677,470.
While some 15,069 non-food items are readily available which include 4,839 family kits; 2,455 hygiene kits; 3,914 kitchen kits; 3,838 sleeping kits; and 23 tents.

Also, Gopalan cited that Region 1 is expected to receive a delivery of 30,000 raw materials.
This raw materials is in preparation of the replenishment of the current stockpile, if consumed.
As of 5:00pm of Monday, the DSWD haven’t received any request for augmentation.
“Sa ngayon ay wala pa tayong natatanggap na request mula sa mga LGUs,” she said.
She added, “Baka nandun pa ang kanilang mga request sa ating mga satellite offices.”
Meanwhile, based on the available data of the DSWD, there are 4,474 affected families which is comprised of 18,016 inidviduals across the 118 barangays of the Ilocos. (JCR/CGC, PIA La Union)
