Andanar lauds government, media partnership in communication

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - - Presidential Communications Operation Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar lauded the partnership of the government and the private media in the implementation of Laging Handa Crisis Communication Policy.

Andanar, during his guesting at the People’s Forum, a radio program hosted by RJohn Del Coro at Radyo Bandera 95.7FM, September 6, commended the support of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) in the implementation of the communication policy.

“Itong Laging Handa ay nasubukan natin ito during the pandemic kung saan lahat po ng government communication instrumentalities ay tumahak ng isang direksyon,” he said.

He noted that the PCCO, in partnership with the KBP, signed a Memorandum of Agreement, and because of the good relations and partnership, the PCOO was able to successfully implement the Laging Handa Crisis Communication Policy.

Andanar expressed optimism that with the streamlined  communication instrumentalities and improved social  media reach, the  government communicators were able to successfully inform the public of what the government is doing during the pandemic.

“Naabot natin ang lahat sa pamamagitan ng pagpa-improve ng lahat ng PCOO agencies and strong partnership with the private media," he said during the radio program.

Andanar also cited the Mindanao Media Hub and the upcoming groundbreaking of the first Government Communications Academy in Bukidnon.

He also mentioned the passage of the Media Workers Welfare Bill which was already passed in the Lower House sponsored by Representative Niña Taduran and championed by PCOO.

The PCOO Chief also discussed the accomplishment of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security which removed the country from the list of worst countries for media in the world due to media killings that happened before.

During the interview, Andanar also commended the hard work of the people in the Philippine Information Agency in communicating the
programs and services of the government. (JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique)
