TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 16 (PIA) -- Bohol logged a little over 11% in its vaccination accomplishment to inoculate the target population of 218,856 out of the total 1,394,329 population.
Bohol is currently dependent on the national government’s vaccine purchases, although some local government units and groups have made arrangements with companies in their purchase of the vaccines, including the City of Tagbilaran and Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry which have sourced out vaccines for their priority category groups.
In the last seven months, Bohol has only received from the national government some 961,871 doses of the vaccines, where two jabs would be needed to provide full protection against the viral disease that has killed 520 Boholanos since May of last year.
The 961,871 vaccines which arrived in Bohol is only good for the full protection of 480,940 residents.
With 196,417 Boholanos given the first dose, in a month’s time, if the vaccine supplies allow, Bohol would have vaccinated 415,273 Boholanos.
However, with 196,417 Boholanos needing the second jab to get complete protection, there are only 68,719 vaccine shots in Bohol’s current stockpile as of Oct. 13.
That means Bohol needs 127,698 doses within the month, if the province hopes to get its first dose recipients given the complete protection. (RAHC/PIA7 Bohol)
