PNP chief : Cleanliness breeds discipline

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--During his visit to the Lanao Del Norte Police Provincial Office in Camp Maj. Eduardo J. Gallejo, Pigcaranan, Tubod town, Philippine National Police chief PGen. Guillermo Eleazar emphasized that cleanliness breeds discipline.

“Ang isang malinis na lugar ay nag-eenganyo para magkaroon ka ng disiplina, samantala iyong maduming lugar ang tendency doon ay mas lalo pag dumihan pa,” said Eleazar.

[[A clean place entices you to have discipline, while a dirty place urges you to be even more dirty.]

The PNP chief emphasized the Intensified Cleanliness Policy of their organization. He said that this is anchored to the broken windows theory which states that small problems must be addressed immediately to prevent these problems from getting worse.

Eleazar further underscored the significance of maintaining cleanliness in facilities. He said the common people go to police stations to raise their concerns. Thus he emphasized that police stations should be clean and presentable.

“The very essence of our existence ay para sa common na tao na pumunta sa atin [are for those people who come to us,” he said.

The police general hopes that this discipline will reflect all the things that the police officers will do.

Deserving police personnel in the province also received awards from the PNP chief. Furthermore, eyewear and bulletproof vests were also turned over to them. (LELA / PIA Lanao del Norte)
