DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Oct. 25 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla has reported that 53 or 18% of the 283 active COVID-19 cases are admitted in five hospitals in the city as of Oct. 24.

Some 16 patients are confined at Silliman University Medical Center, 18 at Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, eight at ACE Doctors, five at Holy Child Hospital, and six at Negros Polymedic Hospital.

The total active COVID-19 cases reported on Oct. 24 are currently in 27 of the 30 component barangays in the city, said Talla.

 The remaining 230 active COVID-19 cases are handled and monitored by the City Health Office, including those who are outside the city.

Of the 283 active COVID-19 cases, only 116 were confirmed to have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and will be less likely to experience severe symptoms requiring hospitalization.

Meanwhile, four COVID-19 patients, including a 73-year-old retiree with comorbidities, are among the latest who recovered from coronavirus reported on Oct. 24.

However, two new COVID-19 cases from barangays Cadawinonan and Candau-ay were also confirmed by the CHO.

There are now 283 active COVID-19 cases with 3,605 recoveries and 115 deaths since Jan. 30, 2020. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from CPIO)
