SAPANG DALAGA, Misamis Occidental (PIA)—Provincial line agencies of Misamis Occidental teamed-up for the launching of the Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan towards National Recovery held at Barangay San Agustin, Sapang Dalaga, this province.
The caravan aims to pool together all government agencies as well as partners from the private sector, to inform the general public of the government’s programs and accomplishments.
The activity also intends to bring basic services down to the grassroots level, offering on-ground services to participants.
Sapang Dalaga Mayor Donjie Animas shares that they have gained so much from President Rodrigo Duterte, especially on infrastructure.
“Sa panahon sa Duterte administration (During the Duterte administration), ang Sapang Dalaga naka-benepisyo (Sapang Dalaga benefited) more or less P700 million. Makita man ninyo (You can also see) from Barangay Bitibut to San Agustin ang total cost sa project is 192 million. Bitibut to Caluya (150 million), Bitibut to Libertad (67 million), Poblacion to Sapang Dalaga Falls (150 million) and water system sa Barangay Caluya (50 million) ug uban pa (and others),” he said.
The mayor also said the services and programs of the government are felt in his municipality.
One of the beneficiaries during the Duterte Legacy, Marlyn Tanjay, 53, from Barangay San Agustin said, “Salamat kaayo sa gobyerno kay nakadawat mi ani nga mga services, naa tanan ang serbisyo sa gobyerno nag paduol gyud sa among barangay labi na karon nga dili mi ka lakaw tungod sa pandemya. Dako kaayo among pasalamat ni President Duterte kay napakgang gyud ang problema sa droga, bisag wala man nahurot basta kay naa gyud siya’y agi.”
(Thank you so much to the government because we received these services, all the services the government brings here in our barangay, especially this time of the pandemic. We are very grateful to President Duterte because the drug problem has been solved, even though it’s not totally eradicated but it was a huge accomplishment).
The Duterte Legacy program featured “Serbisyo Caravan’’ where government and private organizations offered various services such as livelihood training, legal services, distribution of medicines, vegetable seeds, disaster awareness, mobile library, feeding program, libreng gupit,tupok and tuli, medical check-up and distribution of food packs, hygiene kits, bloodletting, processing of PSA certificates, distribution of Philhealth forms, school supplies, consultation assistance with SSS, Alis Kuto campaign, and distribution of fruit tree seedlings and mosquito nets.
The Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office (MOPPO), Philippine Information Agency, LGU Sapang Dalaga, and the provincial offices of Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), as well as PhilHealth, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MAU/MENRO Sapang Dalaga), LGU- Assessor’s Office, 10th Infantry Battalion of Philippine Army; Sapang Dalaga Municipal Police Station, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Sapang Dalaga, IPI, Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital (MOPH), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Social Security System (SSS), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Misamis Occidental Stakeholder and Security Alliance (MOSSA), Provincial Health Office (PHO), PAGLAUM, International Pharmaceutical Incorporated; Doctor Nathaniel Laurence Medina and Medtech Aldelyn G. Robillos for the medical check-up and fasting blood sugar and Member of Foreign National Keepers Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Group Saad Abdulrahim Almohsen all set up service booths during the caravan.
