BFP sustains fire safety campaign

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - -  The Bureau of Fire Protection sustains its campaign on fire  prevention and safety even in ordinary days to keep the vigilance of the people as well.

“Safety requires consistent efforts,” said SFO3 Alenel E Cuayson of Belison Municipal Fire Station.

Due to the sustained vigilance of the people towards fire safety, the observance of All Souls and All Saints Day recorded zero fire incidents in the Municipality of Belison.

Cuayson emphasized that the said outcome was a result of an intensive implementation of a fire prevention and safety campaign.

The activity includes "recorida" with a loudspeaker operation and posting of fire safety banners and tarpaulins to  conspicuous places.

"Due to the threat of this Covid-19 virus, our fire safety leaflets intended for every individual were placed in an open box to allow the people to pick for themselves to avoid contact," Cuayson said, adding that firetruck visibility in transportation terminals, highways and cemetery was also done.

On the other hand, The BFP also responded to a vehicular fire that transpired at Barangay Supa, San Jose, Antique recently involving one motorcycle and cargo truck.

With this, BFP reiterated its call to all motorists to check on the worthiness of their vehicles before they ply their route to ensure the safety of everyone. (JBG/PSM/PIA Antique)
