TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- The provincial government fully supports the ongoing Tarlac Trade Fair at SM Tarlac that will help local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) showcase and market their products.  
 
It augmented about P300,000 for the space rental of the trade fair at the Upper Ground Floor of the mall. 
 
In her speech delivered by Tarlac Provincial Cooperative & Enterprise Development Office Head Marvi Dela Cruz, Governor Susan Yap said the trade fair is significant to the recovery of local MSMEs in light of the pandemic.
 
“It is good to know that we are reviving the true spirit of ‘bayanihan.’ It is by simply working together in creating remarkable endeavors like this trade event that serves as a driveway in helping our local MSMEs in developing their products,” she said. 
Yap emphasized the trade fair is a good platform to promote local products, create business opportunities and contribute to the development of the local economy. 
 
“Each MSME is a reflection of the unique style, creativity and craftsmanship of our fellow people through a wide variety of food, fashion, accessories, wearable items, holiday decors, gift items, furniture and home furnishing. This is a great opportunity where MSMEs deeply strengthened their bond representing the best of what Tarlac province has to offer,” the governor noted. 
 
Also, she encouraged consumers to show their love by patronizing locally-made goods.
 
“The so-called ‘pasa-love’ through helping hand is a value that we should instill into our hearts and minds not only this coming Christmas season but in each day of the years to come,” she said. 
 
For her part, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Director Agnes Ramirez disclosed that 72 participants, including exporters, have joined the trade fair. 
 
“We have exporters who had introduced our local products on the international stages of China, Japan and Germany. With this trade fair, we want to showcase the world-class quality of the products of Tarlac,” she said. 
 
DTI is hopeful that this year’s trade fair, which will run until December 31, will surpass the one million sales last year. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
